Being Present

We are discussing the Present, specifically the intersection of multiple meanings of it as a time concept, of existing in a particular place/space, and the definition of it as a gift.

Welcome to Today. Now. You have never been here before. Well, you have existed, sure. But there has not been a time filled with you in it before this exact time. We orient ourselves in time itself by sectioning it into manageable chunks – hours, for organization, to structure, to remember, etc. For our collective convenience we have sunrise and sunset, day and night; morning, afternoon, evening; breakfast, lunch, dinner. Each is full of new potential. Each is an opportunity – fresh, blank, ready to be filled with who you are.

Let us go smaller. Consider the breakdown of time itself into pieces – we have moments.

Be Attentive

Let us go deeper here. There is something simple and yet complex about Intentionality in the moment. Being attentive to what comes up in each moment.

Dwelling in it. Honoring it. Having awareness to what is happening without judgement to it.

I like to enter present with a nod to its freshness. It has never occurred before. Whatever will be presently will occur with some impulse or plan from me; however, much of it is outside my influence. I allow myself to be open to the presents’ teachings. I ask of myself: What am I meant to learn? Who am I meant to impact? To be aware for me is to be vigilant for, something purposed for me to give and/or receive and further, to share as an experience.

I choose in the present to be curious to discovery, open to change.

I choose to become more.

I choose to be impactful.

To exercise humility.

To be vulnerable.

Authentic.

Each Day Is A New Day

The present of today ends with the hours we recognize day to night. But there is tomorrow. And the day after that. And then the one next. And so on. But those are other days and times, moments to be filled with your presence in those presents to come. For now – there is the Gift of the present in Today. It deserves the truth of you.

What are some ways you can choose to operate in the space of time that you fill right now?

How can you be present to self? To others?

You can practice mindfulness in so many ways. Learn how you can become more present in the moment by contacting us.
