Marissa McCabe, LMSW

Hi there! My name is Marissa, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Associate Clinical Therapist here at Usawa.  I enjoy working alongside and supporting adolescents, new mothers, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those who have experienced trauma. With a foundation in trauma-informed care, I strive to offer a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals to explore their unique challenges and build resilience.

Through the utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I partner with clients to develop coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and create lasting positive changes in their lives. I am particularly passionate about empowering those navigating life transitions, such as new motherhood or identity exploration, and fostering a supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and valued.

In my work with adolescents, I integrate a blend of practical skills and emotional support to help young people navigate the complexities of identity, self-esteem, and relationships. I also bring a deep understanding of the LGBTQIA+ community, working from a place of empathy and respect to help clients create a sense of belonging and confidence.

My belief in the power of collaboration guides my practice. In counseling, I will work with you as a team to help you identify your goals, develop self-awareness, and uncover your inherent strengths. Using a client- centered approach, we will foster a therapeutic partnership built on trust and understanding to help you achieve your goals.

When not in session, I enjoy engaging in self-care practices such as exploring nature with my two children, reading, and spending time with close friends.
